Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 6, 2026 | Last Updated: October 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PromptEngine ("we", "our", or "us"), operated via
https://promptlogic.io, collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our web workspace and companion browser extensions for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
1. Core Privacy Principles
We prioritize minimal data collection: By default, we do not retain or log your raw prompt generation text or AI refinement outputs. Only numeric token metrics (tokens added, reduced, or consumed) are logged for accounting and quota enforcement. Prompts are stored in our database only when you explicitly click "Save."
2. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you register via email, Google OAuth, or Microsoft OAuth, we collect your email address and authentication identifiers to maintain your account and subscription tier.
- Saved Prompts (User-Initiated): If you choose to save a prompt template to your personal History library, we store the title, prompt content, and tags associated with your account.
- Usage & Token Metrics: We record numeric metrics such as daily request counts, token deltas, preset versions used, and engine usage to enforce free/paid quotas and prevent abuse.
- Browser Extension Pairing Tokens: When connecting the extension to your web workspace, a temporary 6-digit code is exchanged for an opaque, scoped authorization token stored locally in
chrome.storage.local.
3. Browser Extension Permissions & Practices
Our companion browser extension adheres strictly to Google Chrome Web Store and Mozilla Add-on developer policies:
- No Background Keystroke Logging: The extension does not record, log, or transmit any background keystrokes, form inputs, or search queries.
- Explicit Action Only: The extension interacts with supported chat composers (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) only when you explicitly open the popup and click "Insert" or "Copy."
- No Unrelated Web Tracking: The extension requests host permissions strictly for your configured API domain and supported AI composer tabs. It never tracks your broader browsing history.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We work with trusted third-party providers to deliver our core services:
- OpenAI (API Provider): When you choose optional AI refinement, the prompt draft and preset parameters are transmitted to OpenAI's developer API (using
gpt-4o-mini) to structure the output. We do not permit provider models to train on your API transmissions.
- Razorpay: If you upgrade to a paid Pro tier, subscription transactions and recurring payments are processed directly by Razorpay. We do not store or process your credit card numbers, CVVs, or UPI PINs on our servers.
- Google & Microsoft Identity: Used strictly for OAuth authentication if you sign in with those providers.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
You retain ownership of your data at all times. You can delete individual saved prompts from your History page. If you wish to delete your entire account and all associated tokens, you may execute an account deletion request in your Account Settings or email us. Upon deletion, your user records, entitlements, and saved prompts are permanently removed.
6. Data Security
All communication between your browser, our web workspace, the browser extension, and our API is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.2/1.3 / HTTPS). Authentication credentials and session tokens are protected using secure, HttpOnly cookies and isolated server secrets.
